Big ol update

Been working traditionally a lot recently and have been sketching a lot more. Trying to learn how to oil paint this summer has been fun and the first image is from a 2 hour life drawing session they have here at a community college that isn't too far from me.

The image is a digital piece I did trying to keep what I've learned in mind and I've got to say I've had a lot of fun doing this one.

This has been a pretty big deal to me. It seems like I've never really liked anything I've ever made and it was hard for me to appreciate myself as a artist because of it. My only goal behind this piece was to make something that I would be okay attaching my name to and to make something that I liked.

Studies

I really haven't been able to do anything because I find myself uninspired.
I suppose it's been a good opportunity to experiment and do studies though. Not really too proud of anything I've done along the lines but I finished something today that doesn't look completely hideous so here it is.

Had fun playing with negative space and dabbling in photoshop painting. It was fun to kind of break my method of operating and do a few other things.

Mind you this probably isn't the most interesting thing I've done but I figured a portrait of Christina Hendricks would be simple enough.

Anyway, moving forward's better than sitting still.

Semester Comes to A Close

Really have enjoyed my time here and it's going to be really hard for me to part with this place for a month. I know people around me are saying they can't wait to get home but honestly I wish I could just stay and work.  I guess it's a good excuse to go back and focus more intensely on my personal projects and to process the vast amount of information I've learned.
Here are two finals I turned in, didn't have time to work on them fully and I wish I could finish polishing but I just couldn't find the time this last week.

Seriously blessed to have been able to come to Ringling and I'm looking forward to wherever my journey here takes me.

Hard to be keepin' up with those personal projects and sketches with all the final projects I have.

Speedpaint from DPSC tonight. Took like forty minutes (Which is way longer than it should have). It wasn't really the topic as we were supposed to make T-shirt design. But to me that really just means "Zach, make this portrait of a pink Demon Dude"
